William and Harry they finally unveiled the statue dedicated to Diana, in a small-scale ceremony, which she did not even participate in Kate Middleton. But for the first time the two brothers are back to smile together.
On his 60th birthday, Lady Diana was honored and remembered by her children, William and Harry, who after years of work managed to fulfill their dream of dedicating a statue to their mother, created by the sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley, placing it in his favorite corner within the gardens of Kensington Palace.
The work portrays the Princess of the People as she places her hands on the shoulders of a boy and girl, symbolizing Diana’s attention to young people, as Harry recently recalled in a video.
Will and his brother have raised the cloth together that covered the statue showing it to the world. The Princes had to renounce a lavish inauguration, as had been previously organized, due to the Covid emergency. The grand ceremony was postponed to September. In any case, Charles Spencer, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane, Diana’s brother and sisters were present at the event.
William and Harry warmly welcomed their uncles, kissing them affectionately and shaking their hands. Both dressed in dark suits, the two Princes appeared relaxed and in perfect harmony with each other as if nothing had happened.
Harry arrived by car 45 minutes before the inauguration, walked alongside William to reach the statue. The two commented on the work among themselves and even hinted at a smile.
Kate Middleton preferred to stay on the sidelines, officially to give her place to another guest. But probably to allow the two brothers to confront directly without any inconveniences present. The strategy, at least apparently, seems to have worked. After months of tensions and accusations, exacerbated by the distance, perhaps Will and Harry have begun the path of reconciliation.
