The Queen in Parliament for the first time without Philip
“I felt like an animal in a zoo”. This is just one of the many sensational statements released by Harry and it is one of those that are destined to remain in history. If William and Carlo have shown signs of abating in the face of the words of the Duke of Sussex, the same cannot be said of the queen.
Elizabeth II, known for her very special love for Harry, does not seem to have allowed herself to be touched by her nephew’s words, however harsh and unbelievable. In fact, the sovereign showed herself smiling in her last streaming audience, held with Lim Thuan Kuan – High Commissioner of the Republic of Singapore – e Cesar Rodriguez-Zavalla, Ambassador of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay.
The smile is what he has always shown on institutional occasions, in which he has few equals. Elizabeth did not therefore appear disturbed by the latest scandals involving the Royal Family.
After the interview with Oprah Winfrey with his wife Meghan, Harry is a river in flood. He also returned to talk about his choice to leave his family, to get out of that whirlwind of pain that had overwhelmed him since he was a child. In his words, there is also something for Prince Charles: “He treated me as he was treated, I wanted to change for my children. He always said to me: ‘So it was for me, so it will be for you’ ”.
Harry’s gesture of leaving the royal family had caused quite a stir in public opinion and in the Queen herself, who said she was disappointed with this decision. Yet, there was no lack of demonstrations of relaxation on his part, especially on the occasion of the funeral of Prince Philip.
Elizabeth II he had in fact established that everyone presented themselves in civilian clothes, so as not to exhibit the military titles Harry was deprived of at the time of his choice to abandon his old life to embark on a new one alongside his wife Meghan and the little one Archie, who will soon have a little sister.
The feeling of deep union between Elizabeth and Harry has ancient roots. It is said, in fact, that the Queen has always had an eye for him, as he is very similar to her beloved sister Margaret.
