Leonor of Spain, a year of style for the future Queen
This is going to be a very special summer for Leonor: having finished the school commitments that kept her busy until very recently, she is now preparing to spend some time with her family, before leaving Zarzuela to embark on a new chapter in her life. But there is still an important appointment that awaits her, and she will have at her side as always mother Letizia.
Leonor has a bright future ahead of her, and in a few months will have to leave the nest to continue her studies in Wales, and more precisely at UWC Atlantic College – the same one that Alexia of Holland will attend. Before facing the separation from her parents and from her sister Sofia, to whom the Princess is very attached, she still has some time to spend with her family. But his summer holidays they will soon be interrupted for a special event, which Leonor cannot miss.
We are talking about the delivery of the Princesa de Girona prizes, which will be held next Thursday 1 July in Barcelona. It is an appointment that stands out on the agenda of King Felipe VI’s eldest daughter, who bears the title of Princess of Girona and, as such, is the honorary president of the event. On the occasion of the 2019 awards ceremony, the very young Leonor he made his debut with an emotional speech, in the role of heir to the Spanish throne. Since that time, the Princess’ presence at the official events of the Royal Family has become more and more frequent.
On 1 July, therefore, Leonor will again be the protagonist of the day dedicated to Princesa de Girona Foundation, during which the 2020 and 2021 prizes will be awarded – last year, due to the Covid emergency, the ceremony was canceled. King Felipe VI and Letizia of Spain, as well as their two daughters, will be present at the appointment which will take place at the CaixaForum, considered the most suitable for safely welcoming participants. It will be a different day than usual, since only the winners will be able to attend, the members of the Foundation and, of course, the Royal Family. But it will be possible to follow the event on Youtube.
Therefore Leonor has another important task to perform, before enjoying your well-deserved summer vacation. As always, she will be able to count on the support of her loved ones: mother Letizia, in particular, has always been by her side to support her in these first steps from future Queen.
