Letizia of Spain, the fabulous pink looks
Letizia and Felipe of Spain they celebrate 17 years of marriage: they got married on May 22, 2004 in the Madrid cathedral of Nostra Signora de la Almudena. The marriage was transmitted into a worldview as befits when a future King gets married. But before the ceremony, Letizia made her entrance between the crowned heads with an unforgettable Cinderella dress.
The evening before getting married, in fact Felipe and Letizia of Spain gave a pre-wedding party where nobles from all over the world were invited, just to name two of the most glamorous names, Rania of Jordan and Carolina of Monaco were among the guests.
Well, for this official debut at the Court of Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, journalist and ex-wife of Alonso Guerrero Pérez, the future Queen of Spain chose a dress that in all respects we can define as Cinderella, both for the model and for the wearer.
Letizia as Cinderella is a woman who conquered the Crown by marrying her prince charming. So, for that gala evening that would have projected her into a new world, Letizia chose a long dress in silver satin with a shawl neckline that left the shoulders uncovered and a wide skirt surmounted by a lace and beaded cape, made by Lorenzo Caprile.
The future Queen paired it with a pair of strappy, high-heeled shoes and a beaded bag. The hair gathered in an elaborate bun enhanced the pearl necklace.
Of course, Letizia had to deal with style icons of the caliber of Carolina di Monaco who arrived at the party with a splendid Chanel dress with a pink bodice and extra large white sleeves, while the skirt was a very long black sheath dress.
Rania of Jordan instead opted for a satin dress, pearl gray, with train and shoulder cover in hard stones, simply divine. Maxima of Holland sported a purple, high-waisted, one-shoulder total look.
