Many women love to curse, although because of that, they have surely had to endure a lot of criticism. But it’s definitely worth it as swearing is liberating. If you are one of those women who swear with a somewhat vulgar vocabulary, then you already have a way to excuse yourself.
One study found that swearing relieves and relieves, therefore, girls who swear are much happier than others.
1. Swearing makes you feel less pain
A study conducted by Richard Stephens, from Keele University, in England, in which 67 university students dipped their hands in ice water at the same time to see how much they could endure, showed that when you curse the pain is less. They also stated that they felt less pain overall. Stephens concluded by advising people to curse when you feel any pain.
2. Swearing makes you feel stronger
Professor Stephens realized that cursing increases aggression. But what is the importance? Easy! That the weakness diminishes. Cursing makes people feel stronger than they really are.
3. That you say them does not mean that you are ignorant
People mistakenly believe that those who swear do so because they do not have a large vocabulary that allows them to find the right words, and therefore, they replace certain words with swearing. That’s a lie! Stephens worked on a project, and they concluded that swearing is not directly related to the intellect.
4. Cursing serves as a defense mechanism
As Stephens demonstrated in his study with college students, cursing is a defense mechanism. How else can you explain that those who cursed lasted longer with their hands in the freezing water?
5. Swearing helps you to be much more resistant
Leaving aside the fact that cursing serves as a defense mechanism, it also makes you feel that you are capable of achieving anything. Just think that you are in traffic, you are late for work and a bad driver does not respect the signs making your way slow.
You start cursing (of course, from your car). You know that shouting rudeness may not help you at all, but it helps you free yourself and makes you more resistant to the situation.
6. Makes you feel so much better
At no point does cursing make you feel worse, right? Timothy Jay, a psychologist at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, says that “cursing allows us to unleash what we feel, and express anger, joy, surprise or happiness”.
7. Swearing helps you emphasize your points of view
Have you noticed that there are situations in which you cannot express in words what you are feeling? The most common in these cases is to say exaggerated phrases that involve the use of profanity. Why else do we curse so much when we hit our little toe on furniture, other than to express anger?
8. Being a rude girl means that you are creative.
Curse! Moron! You bastard! … These are words that can be as forceful as if you were saying a long sentence. Using them requires a good deal of creativity.
