Queen Elizabeth, who are her 10 great grandchildren
Bad news for Eugenia of York, who has to give up an important event for her eldest son August Philip Hawke, born on February 9, 2021. The Princess, who lived through her pregnancy during the health emergency, had to cancel baptism of her baby.
After the death and funeral of Prince Philip and the discontent caused by the statements of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the baptism of little August, who is now about five months old, could have been the first real happy event for the Royal Family. Unfortunately, however, Eugenia and her husband Jack Brooksbank had to cancel the ceremony at the last minute and the festivities that were scheduled for this week at the Royal Chapel of All Saint in Windsor.
A baptism, that of little August, who had already encountered difficulties and which should have been held, as usual, when the little one was three months old. Besides being delayed, then, the event had suffered strong limitations about the number of guests which, due to the anti-Covid rules, had to be a maximum of thirty people.
None of this, however, had stopped the enthusiasm of Eugenia and, above all, of Sarah Ferguson, who was involved in the preparations with great enthusiasm. Both were eager to see little August wearing the traditional Honiton lace christening gown, a replica of the original one made for Queen Victoria’s daughter in 1841.
Due to Covid, however, according to what reported by the English magazines, the baptismal party, which would have been held at the Royal Lodge of Prince Andrew, There will not be. Apparently, in fact, one or more participants of the event tested positive or, in any case, were forced into isolation, just as happened in recent days to Kate Middleton.
The fear of the possibility of contagion and the desire to protect all guests, in short, pushed Eugenia of York and Jack Brooksbank to give up, at least for now, to a truly special moment for them and their child and to postpone baptism.
Among the thirty invited to August’s baptism, in addition to Eugenia’s parents Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrea, also her sister Beatrice, who is experiencing the joy of her first pregnancy and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Guest of honor it would be Queen Elizabeth who, for nothing in the world, would have missed this important event for her granddaughter and firstborn. Will she be able to enjoy the party for the last of her great-grandchildren soon?
