But second body language expert, Judi James, the images actually send a completely different message. The photos, according to James, show that “there is no sentimental bond between them, Alberto and Charlene look embarrassed“.
And if the photos they took together with the children were cold and detached, the ones that portray them alone are even worse, the expert explains to Femail. The image in which they embrace cheek to cheek “it is excessive“. “Their gaze points towards the lens, rather than looking into each other’s eyes and that makes the photo fake, rather than genuinely intimate.” James continues: “Charlene seems in need of affection, hence her pressing her cheek against his, but it’s a weird gesture because they don’t kiss or look at each other. The photo that instead portrays them side by side seems more convincing and natural. Alberto appears confident, while Charlene places her arm on her husband’s shoulders, but – explains the expert – hers look is sad and although he smiles “the corners of the mouth are slightly pulled down, suggesting conflicting emotions”.
Finally, Alberto is “tense and embarrassed” in almost all the shots.
