Kate Middleton, the homage to Ascot in lilac and support for Pride
William turns 39, in fact, was born on June 21, 1982. For him a birthday marked by normality, far from the public, lived with the utmost discretion. There was no lack of good wishes shared on social media by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles. Both wanted to pay homage to the Duke with photos in which, however, Harry was completely excluded.
Faced with new rumors about Harry that he decided to do the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey for revenge, the Royal Family’s reply was indifference. The ancient Romans spoke of dannatio memoriae, but it certainly did not go that far.
Simply in the family photos made public for William’s birthday, Harry was omitted. After all, this is what the Sussexes wanted: to break away from the Palace and lead a life of their own, far from the protocols and duties of the Court, but freedom naturally comes at a high price. And it seems, from what the British media are reporting, that Meghan and her husband have not done the right math.
Whatever the case may be, Elizabeth wanted to pay homage to her nephew, the future British King, by sharing photos of William with Kate Middleton on the official Twitter profile, extolling his role as husband, with the Duchess and three children to show him as an affectionate father and in military uniform to underline his future as a monarch.
Carlo also posted pictures of his eldest son on Instagram, a very sweet one of Will as a child with his father and one that portrays him in more recent times always in the company of Carlo with the addition of Camilla. No reference to Diana e least of all with Harry, now destined to no longer be part of the Royal Family, at least as regards the institutional facade.
For its part, Kate Middleton is silent. No public message for her husband, but in all likelihood she will organize a private party for him in Norfolk where they usually celebrate birthdays, when only free from court commitments.
And William thanks with a bucolic photo taken in the garden to say precisely: “Thanks for the good wishes and the tender happy birthday message”.
