Kate Middleton challenges Jill Biden with the fuchsia sheath dress
On the occasion of the Big Lunch Event organized for the G7, Kate Middleton sported a dress of Alexander McQueen from 3,000 euros, but this was not the detail that made its presence stand out, but a tribute to Lady Diana. Unfortunately, Kate had no way of knowing her, but often pays homage to her by wearing her jewels: in this case, a pearl and diamond bracelet.
The G7, which brings together the main world leaders, was held in Cornwall. There Duchess of Cambridge she proved up to the occasion, once again: her tests as a Queen are now known. In recent days, she has been entertaining with the American First Lady, Jill Biden. Her charm and outfit convinced already in that event, with a magnificent one fuchsia dress.
For the Big Lunch Event (in which Queen Elizabeth, Charles, Camilla and William were also present), Kate showed herself elegant and with a regal bearing to say the least. The eyes of the cameras focused on one detail: that Lady Diana’s three-strand pearl bracelet. She paired it with a refined look – suitable for the occasion – Alexander McQueen dress, nude heels and a white clutch bag. For the make-up, he once again focused on simplicity, which seems to be a fundamental characteristic for the Duchess.
The pearl and diamond bracelet in question was designed by Nigel Milne. It was worn by Lady Diana on several important occasions, including a visit to Hong Kong in 1989. For that occasion, she had skilfully combined the bracelet with an embroidered dress and the unforgettable tiara Cambridge Lover’s Knot.
Kate Middleton often wears Diana’s jewels: probably, it is also a way to keep the memory alive and to give the Royal Family a continuum between the past and the present. She had already worn the string of pearls in 2017 at Berlin and in 2018 on the occasion of royal tour of Sweden along with Prince William. Even the sister-in-law Meghan Markle, while still attending royal events, showed Lady Diana memorabilia.
For William, the memory of mother Diana has always been vital: after all, he proposed marriage to Kate with the famous 12-karat diamond and sapphire ring, dating back to the engagement between her and Prince Charles. Among other things, it was Harry who received it as a gift after the death of his mother: when William asked him to be able to use it, he did not hold back, demonstrating that the bond of the brothers, in the past, was more united and sincere than ever.
