Farewell to Prince Philip: difficult childhood, love for the Queen and grandchildren
Elizabeth he prepares to celebrate his first birthday without Filippo. The Queen has decided not to postpone the Trooping the Color, the annual parade held in June to celebrate his 95th birthday on 21 April. The ceremony will not take place in Buckingham Palace, as expected, but in Windsor and in the place of Philip there will be a special person.
As reported by The Mirror, in fact, next to the Queen during the Trooping the Color there will be the Duke of Kent, Prince Edward. “He will be the most one of Her Majesty,” explained a source, speaking of the celebrations scheduled for Saturday 12 June. The Duke is the son of George, Duke of Kent and Marina of Greece, grandson of King George V and first cousin of The Queen.
The Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away on April 9, this year he will not be next to his beloved Queen. Elizabeth would therefore have asked the Duke of Kent to replace her husband during the ceremony. Already in 2013 the noble had taken Filippo’s place when he was hospitalized for an operation on the abdomen.
The parade, according to the first rumors, will be in reduced form a will take place in Windsor. All the members of the Royal Family were present, including William and Kate Middleton who in this difficult period have always remained alongside the Queen. There won’t be Harry and Meghan Markle, officially due to the pregnancy (and possible birth) of the former actress. In fact, it is rumored that the Sussexes intend never to return to London again after the recent tensions.
Harry, as is well known, has made rather heavy statements regarding his relationship with his father Carlo. Words that would have deeply hurt the Queen’s son, who was determined not to forgive him. For this reason, it may not return to the City even at the beginning of July when it will be inaugurated the statue of Diana, strongly desired by both Harry and William. The hope of the Sovereign is that Kate Middleton will be able, in the coming weeks, to reconnect the two brothers, bringing peace to the family after months of tensions and quarrels.
