An investigation into racism in court, the allegations and the fear of Kate Middleton and William for the Queen. After the uncomfortable interview with Meghan Markle and Harry to Oprah Winfrey, the Royal Family has been hit with a new scandal.
To unleash the storm that hit the royal family was an investigation by The Guardian. The newspaper has in fact published some documents that are embarrassing Buckingham Palace. This is a documentation dating back to the late 1960s that limited work for immigrants. “Clerical jobs are not intended for immigrants of color or foreigners,” it reads.
In reality, immigrants could be hired, but only to perform secondary duties. It is not yet clear whether this practice was abolished over time, according to what The Guardian wrote, but over the years the Court would have effectively circumvented numerous laws against racial discrimination. In fact, the Queen would have had the opportunity not to follow them for 40 years. In fact, people who have resided in the United Kingdom for less than five years cannot play key roles in the management of the building.
The documents, unsurprisingly, sparked a real storm. Buckingham Palace’s reaction was not long in coming with a statement in which the Palace rejected any accusation of racism. “Allegations based on a second-hand account of conversations from over 50 years ago should not be used to draw or infer conclusions about current facts or actions,” the note reads. The royal family and the sovereign comply with the requirements of the Equality Act in principle and in practice ”.
Certainly the scandal has undermined, once again, the serenity of the Queen who in the last period has been severely tested several times by Meghan Markle and Harry. First the interview with Oprah, then the nephew’s statements about life at the Court, made the Sovereign very sad, who hopes to be able to reunite the family. The most concerned about the situation would be Kate Middleton and William, on the front line to support The Queen and to protect the Royal Family, tried by the latest events.
