Meghan Markle, Archie turns two
A simple announcement was enough to raise a fuss. Meghan Markle’s name has been rhyming with controversy for some time now, even if it is the publication of a children’s book. The former American actress, who became a writer with The Bench, has again ended up in the eye of the storm following some attacks – even very heavy ones – in which there is even talk of plagiarism.
It was the royal commentator who sparked the controversy Piers Morgan, who went a little further on Mail Online even calling it a hypocrite. The reason is simple but also quite personal, as well as linked to the history of the Markle family:
“In the book she talks about the relationship between fathers and children, she who has denied her father: at the Royal Wedding she hasn’t invited anyone from her family apart from her mother, so she doesn’t seem as inclusive as she says she is”.
The criticisms, however, are not over. As you know, Harry and Meghan left the royal family to build a new life in America. This choice still has the flavor of rebellion. Yet, the signature on the cover – according to most – would seem to suggest something else. The author of the children’s book has in fact signed Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
The decision to use the royal title thus aroused the indignation of many, who accused her of exploiting it for mere commercial purposes. As if that were not enough, Meghan would also have anticipated the timing of the release of the photographic collection curated by Kate Middleton, thus burning the wait for the coffee table book containing the images taken by the British royals during the first lockdown of 2020.
However, it seems unlikely that Meghan Markle has announced her first book to outshine her sister-in-law’s work and Duchess of Cambridge, since these are two completely different projects, just as it is absurd to believe that she wanted to exalt her husband’s pain for the loss of military titles which occurred following the removal from the Windsors.
Rather, as he points out instead Phil Dampier, the red-haired soldier we preview would like to suggest how much Harry was tied to the army and as he always demonstrated even well before his marriage to Markle.
The most merciless attack is the one that comes from social media, in which we talk about plagiarism. According to early rumors, Meghan Markle’s first children’s book would be too similar to The Boy on The Beach by Corinne Averiss of 2018.
To deny the persistent rumors that have been recurred on the net, he has however thought about it the author of the original book who – called into question – commented: “I have read the description and an excerpt, I do not see any similarity between my book and that of the Duchess”.
The volume will arrive just over a month from the baby’s 2nd birthday Archie. According to rumors, the little one would have seen Queen Elizabeth again via Zoom for birthday wishes, waiting to receive all the gifts he deserves directly at his American residence.
