Your hair is made up of proteins. Environmental pollution can take the moisture out of your hair. The best way to restore moisture and shine to your hair is by getting protein treatments. The protein softens the hair cuticle, creating softer strands and stronger hair.
Protein-based treatments are quite expensive in beauty salons. Instead of buying these expensive treatments you can easily do your own treatments at home, they are natural and with frequent use you get a long lasting result.
Egg mask
.
Eggs are the best source of protein for hair. The yolk is rich in fat and protein and is extremely hydrating. The white of the egg is full of bacteria that eat enzymes that clean the hair and scalp. Use a whole egg for normal to dry hair.
For oily hair, use only the white of the egg. This treatment can be used every 2 weeks or every month. Take an egg or two depending on the length and thickness of your hair, beat until frothy and apply to your hair and scalp.
Make sure all hair is adequately covered with the egg. Put on a shower cap and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse with cold water and shampoo. If you find the egg smell unpleasant, add a few drops of lemon juice.
Face mask Yoghurt
.
Dairy products like cream and yogurt contain lactic acid that gently cleanses while fat hydrates. You can mix the egg and yogurt together for a deep conditioning protein treat.
Simply massage 3 tablespoons of sour cream or yogurt into your hair. Let stand for 20 minutes. Rinse with shampoo. You can use this treatment once a week.
Mayonnaise and avocado mask
.
Mayonnaise is made from oil and egg so it is very moisturizing for the hair. Avocado is high in fat which is great for dry hair and makes it less prone to breakage.
Mix two tablespoons of mayonnaise and half an avocado puree in a bowl until creamy. Apply this homemade conditioner to your hair all the way to the ends. For even distribution, use a wide tooth comb.
