Funeral of Prince Philip, the Royal Family dressed in mourning
Harry didn’t stay in the UK to celebrate her grandmother’s birthday, Queen Elizabeth turning 95. In fact, she was born on 21 April 1926. For Her Majesty it is the first birthday, after 73 years, without her husband Filippo, who died on 9 April. But she reacted by sharing on the official Instagram profile of the Crown by sharing a photo of her smiling, against all expectations.
Less than a week after the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral, Elizabeth finds herself “celebrating” her 95th birthday with sadness evidently in her heart. Perhaps for the first time the subjects have perceived the weak side of the Queen, always inscrutable, who immediately reacted by publishing a smiling image of her, to reassure people and the Royal Family. Moreover, Elisabetta has published a message to publicly thank those who have shown affection for her in mourning.
Despite the serious mourning and probably the disappointment for the early departure of Harry who, as reported by the Daily Mail, took the flight to return to Meghan Markle on the afternoon of April 20, Elizabeth once again shows herself first of all as the Sovereign of the Kingdom United. And his portrait confirms this, among other things, denying the rumors that the Palazzo would not release any official photos, as tradition dictates on the occasion of significant birthdays or anniversaries.
The Instagram message accompanying the portrait of Her Majesty is simple and hints at Philip’s death: “The Queen was born at 2.40 am on April 21, 1926 at 17 Bruton Street in Mayfair, London. She was the first daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. This year His Majesty remains at Windsor Castle, during a period of royal mourning after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh ”.
William and Kate Middleton paid homage Elisabetta with sobriety, resuming the official image on their Twitter profile. Instead, Harry’s reaction appears to be exactly the opposite. After rumors that his stay was extended, then disappeared – no one knew what happened to him – until the Daily Mail intercepted his car at the private terminal of Los Angeles airport and was spotted in front of his Montecito villa. in the afternoon of Tuesday 20 April.
So Harry didn’t even stay an extra 24 hours in Britain (contrary to rumors) to be next to his grandmother on her 95th birthday. It may be that the early departure is a kind of reaction to the Queen’s refusal to organize a family summit with him, Charles and William to discuss the Sussex situation, even in light of the revelations, complete with racist accusations, that they made during the interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Harry still spoke to William and Carlo but in an unofficial way. Moreover, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge wanted to meet him together to avoid future misunderstandings. However, Harry returned home with nothing. As much as Kate Middleton went to great lengths for the two brothers to make peace, nothing has been resolved.
Harry is expected to return to London next July for the unveiling of the Diana statue at Kensington Palace.
