There tiara of the Savoy family is up for auction and you can try it out on Instagram in 3D. The jewel, among the most fascinating and precious finished on the market in recent years, has an inestimable value. We are talking about a tiara with single and circular cut cushion diamonds, combined with natural pearls with a teardrop shape and in the baroque style. A real masterpiece, symbol of the power and history of the Savoy, which will be auctioned by Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels on 11 May in Geneva.

The estimated value per hour is 1.3 million euros, a record figure for a tiara full of charm and beauty. It was created in the 19th century by the oldest jewelry in Italy, the Musy Padre e Sigli di Torino. It was given to Maria Vittoria dal Pozzo in 1867 on the occasion of the wedding with Amedeo I of Savoy, who became Duke of Aosta and later King of Spain from 1870 to 1873. After the queen’s death, the jewel passed into the hands of his sons – Emanuele Filiberto, Vittorio Emanuele and Luigi Amedeo – and from that moment its traces were lost.

The tiara reappeared on the scene when Umberto II decided to buy it to prevent it from disappearing from the family collection and to preserve it for the future. For years the precious has remained unknown to most people, until today, with the choice to put it up for auction. The jewel was presented by Sotheby’s on Instagram where the auction house also launched a filter that allows you to try the tiara. The filter allows you to virtually wear the jewel, placing it on your head and feeling, at least for a moment, like royalty. Also thanks to the background: the Stupinigi hunting lodge in Turin, the former residence of the Savoy family.
