For the first time since the system of risk bands identified by colors was introduced, all of Italy is in the yellow zone. A situation that, however, is not destined to last and this time it is not a negative sign, on the contrary. In fact, already from the first week of June, some Regions will finally be declared white area.
“Satisfied with agreement with Regions and ISS on white areas. There is the awareness that prudence and gradualness are still needed ”. With these words the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza he commented on the meeting with the conference of the Regions in view of the new protocol.
According to what was announced, from Tuesday 1 June Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia will be identified as areas where the risk of contagion is lower, while from 7 June the same fate could befall Abruzzo, Liguria and Veneto.
The parameter that defines whether a territory can be declared a white zone is that of 50 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, a goal that other Regions also aspire to in the short term. If the data continue to drop at this rate, thanks also to the progress of the vaccination campaign, it is likely that by June all of Italy could be a white zone. But what are the rules to follow in this case? We have tried to clarify.
White zone, the new curfew rules
The first difference from the current situation is that in the white zone it comes curfew abolished immediately, contrary to what is foreseen for the yellow zone, where there will be a gradual postponement of the starting time from 11pm to midnight until then the total cancellation.
White zone, the rules for the use of masks
For the moment, even in the white area, theobligation to wear a mask both outdoors and indoors and all those measures also envisaged for the yellow zone relating to spacing and the prohibition of gathering. Those entering the lower risk bracket will therefore be able to “anticipate the reopening of economic and social activities for which current legislation already provides for the resumption of activities at a later time”. Fairs, congresses, theme parks and wedding parties should therefore immediately restart (instead of June 15) but also indoor swimming pools, game rooms, spas and indoor sports halls (instead of July 1).
