Recycle, reduce and reuse. With the “Good Refill” project, P&G launches the first aluminum shampoo bottle with refill system, thus using all its capacity to scale to have a positive and concrete impact on a decisive issue for the future of the planet: plastic pollution.
The aluminum bottles of Pantene, Head & Shoulders and Herbal Essencesin fact, they will be 100% recyclable and designed to last around five years, while the refills will be made with 60% less plastic than standard packaging.
This innovative system is part of P&G Beauty’s commitment to responsible beauty that aims to cut by 50% by the end of 2021 the use of virgin plastic in traditional shampoo and conditioner bottles. This means stopping the production of 300 million virgin plastic bottles every year and have the goal of making shampoo and conditioner bottles completely recyclable.
“This packaging innovation will help encourage the reuse of Pantene, Head & Shoulders and Herbal Essences bottles, while allowing a reduction in virgin plastic – comments Valeria Consorte, Vice President Beauty Care of P&G Italy – It is no longer about whether or what we can do, but how fast we can do it and the time to embrace new sustainable lifestyles has arrived ».

We have increased our efforts to promote responsible forestry, to ensure that the 100% of our packaging, globally, is either recyclable or reusable by 2030 and to reduce virgin plastic in packaging by 50% by 2030 ”.
