In recent times we have been hearing more and more about the personal purpose: but what is this concept and why is it so important?
What is personal purpose
The personal purpose can be translated into Italian with the phrase ‘personal purpose’.
In more complex terms it is a purpose we have in life, a goal that shapes our being and our actions, the world in which we would like to leave a mark on the world and on the people around us. Having a personal purpose means implementing a certain degree of introspection to understand what makes us feel able to turn our life and that of others. It contributes to personal development, to the continuous search for perfection and improvement, to have the right energy even in the darkest and most despondent moments.
Everyone’s personal purpose is not stationary, immobile and static on the contrary varies over the course of life depending on age, needs, the context in which we live.
Purpose staff in companies
Today the personal purpose is often at the heart of corporate policies and we hear about it more and more. Gradually, in fact, personal purpose has replaced the now obsolete concepts of corporate mission and vision. The importance of employees’ personal aspirations and their intrinsic life purpose was therefore enhanced.
In this way, looking for one’s purpose, daily work becomes more engaging and stimulating. It also allows everyone to get out of their comfort zone: by addressing topics and situations that inspire us and that are part of our personal purpose, we are able to obtain attitudes more flexible to any situation which is shown in front of us.
In companies, personal purpose is essential to give more stimulus to every employee: everyone must see their own story in the company. We will then create a alignment between corporate mission and personal purpose of each employee who collaborates with it, obtaining better final results.
