Dreams, simplifying a lot, are nothing more than images and thoughts, sounds that are experienced during the hours of sleep. The types of dreams they can be very different from each other. You can find, during sleep, known people, familiar faces, but also complete strangers. Same goes for the environments.
Sigmund Freud, at the beginning of the last century believed that dreams were exactly one access key to the unconscious and, more than a hundred years later, there is still no precise answer.
Studies on the interpretation and understanding of dreams are ongoing. Until a few years ago, it was believed that you only dreamed during the REM phase, today, however, it is believed that one dreams even during NREM periods. The REM phase, however, is the closest to the moment of awakening and, therefore, probably, the dreams that are remembered are those that occurred in this period of time.

The interpretation of dreams it is not a science. In various cultures, the ways of understanding the meaning of a dream are different and lead, above all, to different conclusions.
There are many theories in this regard. There are those who believe that they are none other than projections of what happens during the day; who instead thinks that they can even be a kind of predictions of the future. Who, on the other hand, I think they are emotions free to go out from their shell. You can therefore exasperate situations of terror, fear, but also conditions of happiness. According to some studies, however, pain is much more frequent than more positive sensations.
Many famous people have stated that some of theirs creations are just the result of dreams. Among them the most famous are the writer Mary Shelley, who dreamed of Frankestein’s character, the physicist Nikola Tesla and Elias Howe, who thanks to a dream invented the sewing machine.
