Versus venous insufficiency of the legs, the first tip is to take long walks in the water using the natural massage of the waves on the calves and thighs, if you are at the beach on vacation.
Symptoms and risk factors
Symptoms of a suboptimal circulation are swelling up to unexplained tingling and heaviness difficult to control, especially in the evening. This happens because the legs suffer from a kind of stasis in the venous circulation which leads to a stagnation of blood in the veins. When these lose elasticity, the blood tends to flow back down and overload the veins themselves, which dilate, increasing stagnation. The problem must always be addressed with the doctor.
The heat then does not help venous circulation, because it tends to dilate the superficial vessels with a consequent slowdown in circulation.
Among the risk factors, there is the hereditary one. Water retention, lack of physical activity, a diet with little fruit and vegetables, posture, especially if combined with sedentary work, affect the general clinical picture.
What to do
Whoever goes to the beach points on water aerobics, but in general one must impose oneself to have regular physical activity, even for those who spend many hours sitting. They can be done simple exercises at the desk, for example, when sitting, the heel and toe of the foot can be raised alternately, providing a sort of support for the circulation. If you are sitting a lot, a small ergonomic footplate may be useful. Sleeping with the legs slightly elevated may be indicated.
Hydration is important, remember to drink and at the same time limit the use of salt. On the clothing front, if you suffer from venous insufficiency, high heels and wedges are not recommended. Better to avoid tight and too tight clothes. Last fundamental rule: do not smoke.
