You know, cellulite is a worry of us women: about 90% have it, as well as water retention. Unfortunately, we can’t get rid of it with a fool of fingers, but it can be improved considerably with a few tricks. We see below the relationship between cellulite and physical activity and the best exercises to do.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a skin blemish that tends to appear visually on the skin in the form of Orange peel and affects the adipose tissue and the circulatory system. However, it is not always caused by an excess of fat deposits, in fact even thin women suffer from it. In most cases, one of the main factors contributing to its formation is the water retention. But there are many causes that can cause it or even worsen it, even starting from its initial manifestation, in adolescence, such as:
- Sedentary life
- wrong feeding
- stress
- age
- wrong posture
- bad circulation.
Cellulite and physical activity: the exercises to do
Precisely for the reasons listed above, it is important to adopt healthier habits and a more dynamic lifestyle, integrating a little physical activity into your daily life.
Of course, as already mentioned, we cannot completely eliminate cellulite, but at least we can improve the condition of the skin and reactivate the circulation.
For example, they can be practiced low intensity cardio workouts such as walking, swimming, cycling, low intensity bodyweight circuits with or without tools. Or, if you are more trained, you can replace the former with more intensive workouts such as walking alternating with running, spinning or high intensity circuits with or without tools. Finally, weight training and external load workouts help burn more calories and firm muscles.
But not only that: they can be performed different more specific exercises for legs and buttocks that go to work more deeply on the affected area. Some examples are squats, sumo squats, plie squats, deadlifts with two or one leg, lunges in all ways, the glute bridge with two feet or just one in support, etc. Obviously, cellulite does not manifest itself only in the area of the legs and buttocks, but also on the arms. In this case, the most recommended exercises are: push ups, dumbbell curls, floor dips, arm extensions for triceps, upward thrusts for the shoulders, crosses and thrusts for the chest, etc.
Other solutions to improve cellulite
In addition to exercises to be practiced several times a week, there are other solutions that can be integrated with physical activity in order to improve the situation. For example, you can start fromsupply, preferring fresh, nutrient-rich foods, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, raw foods, potassium-rich foods, fruit and vegetable smoothies. Then you can add a nice one daily water dose, it is recommended to use about two liters per day. And another fundamental thing is to choose waters with a low fixed residue.
Also, one bad and incorrect posture prolonged over time can negatively affect the formation and worsen of fat cells. This can lead, among other things, to a malfunction of the circulatory system. You can finally find a remedy or try to limit stress that the hectic life we live causes us, for example practicing yoga, meditation or giving us breaks to rest the mind and body.
