The Spice Girls revolutionized the 90s look and persistent rumors are certain of the arrival of “Spiceworld2”, the sequel to the first, which could bring those looks back to the screen. Or maybe we will see them in the 2000 version?
Spy Girls: will their look also be the protagonist of the sequel?
After 24 years, rumors arouse curiosity about a possible sequel to the film, entitled Spiceworld2. An opportunity to review together a talented group that made the history of 90s music. The former band is made up of Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) e Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice).
It was the year 1997 when the film came out at the cinema Spiceworld. The film was a huge success and fans went crazy seeing the idols I had gained absolute loyalty with the single Wannabe acted out.
Now, a sequel seems to be in the offing. So what better occasion to brush up on the historic beauty looks of the Spice Girls?
The looks of the Spy Girls
With their jaunty and extravagant look, each of the Spice Girls inspired a generation, defining the beauty and style trends of the 90s.
Let’s review, one by one, the must haves of the time dictated by the Spice Girls!
Mel B: afro hair and abs in sight
Mel B depopulated for its unmistakable beauty look: maxi afro hair, very voluminous, often combined with a dark lipstick, sometimes shiny. His abs were tempting to anyone, sculpted and always in sight.
Mel C and the unmistakable tail
Mel C’s was another of the iconic looks that set trends throughout the nineties. Very natural with a thoughtful use of make up, Mal C had a sporty look with ponytail carried high and super shiny lip balm. Abundant brown mascara on her lashes that thickened her as well as intensified her gaze.
Victoria Beckam: bob and dark lips
Let’s move on to Victoria Beckham. In the 1990s, her look featured a smooth and even helmet dark chocolate color, brick-colored lipstick, abundant mascara too but black.
Emma Bunton
With her High School girl face, Baby Spice she became famous for hers hairstyles with very blonde pigtails and maxi bangs that, at the same time, made her very sexy (and she knew she was!). On her lips she spread candy pink lip gloss.
Geri Halliwell: true femme fatale of the group
As for Geri Halliwell, her beauty look was that of a pop star but also a 90s femme fatale: fiery red highlights, very short dresses (the iconic one with the British flag) and fiery red lipstick with a vinyl finish.
The looks of the Spice Girls are a distant memory of the fans who badly digested the group’s choice to break up, which took place in 2000. After some solo records, on November 6, 2000, the Spice Girls released their third album, Forever, preceded by the single A Holler / Let Love Lead the Way. The album sold just 4 million copies, a disappointing result compared to previous sales. Not surprisingly, the following singles, already planned for release, Tell Me Why, Weekend Love and If You Wanna Have Some Fun, will never be released.
Now engaged on other fronts, each of the Spice Girles decided to follow their own path and in December 2000 they announced the dissolution, noting that the separation would not be final, however. Will the Spiceworld sequel be an opportunity to see them get back together?
