Jason Momoa’s vegan shoes
Actor Jason Momoa, best known for his role as Khal Drogo in the TV series Game of Thrones and for playing Marvel superhero Aquaman, has launched his first shoe collection.
However, these are not ordinary shoes. Their peculiarity is that they are made of totally natural and recycled materials. 100% vegan, the eco-sustainable shoes designed by Jason Momoa are mainly composed of seaweed and cork. In particular, the use of algae makes it possible to eliminate the use of plastic in the manufacture of shoes and manages to safeguard the oceans in two ways. In short, two birds with one stone: the use of plastic is eliminated which would pollute the oceans e it helps to eliminate excess algae in the seas.
The latter in fact grow in the oceans without control, removing light and oxygen from the marine ecosystem.
The exterior design of the vegan sneakers designed by Jason Momoa for the brand So iLL x On The Roam Collection is inspired by the geometric tattoo the actor has on his arm. The model, available only in purple and lilac colors, are called Unity Purple and Yaya Lavender Roamers and they are also enriched by the use of organic cotton.
Jason Momoa’s commitment to the environment
The actor of Hawaiian origins takes environmental issues very seriously. In the past it has already fought a lot for sustainability and against pollution. For example in 2019, in a video shot in the desert, he has completely shaved off his thick beard that characterized it. The reason? Sensitize people to protect the environment. Also in those years Jason Momoa had promoted a water sold in aluminum cans recyclable, more sustainable than the usual plastic bottles.
