The original Charmed series is currently set to be removed in its entirety from Netflix on October 1st, 2020 in the United States. Here’s why the series could be removed, its history on Netflix and where it could head next if it does leave. The series aired between 1998 to 2006 and ran for a total of 178 episodes across eight seasons.
The series has been streaming on Netflix US since it was re-added back in 2015 but the contract has seemingly come to an end after five years. There is a chance, of course, that Netflix and CBS could choose to renew the show although the past has shown that’s unlikely to be the case. The series wasn’t included in the official September 2020 removal list (which lists October 1st removals for September 30th – don’t ask us why) so that could indicate that this isn’t a done deal just yet.
Where is Charmed streaming once it leaves Netflix? Instead, we were alerted to a deal announced earlier this year where Peacock struck a deal with ViacomCBS whereby Charmed along with other shows would head to that new streaming service instead. This does not affect the reboot of the series, which currently has two seasons on the streamer with the third season set to premiere on The CW in January 2021. The rebooted show will head to Netflix after each season and remain there for five years once the show ends. At least, not solely!
It is possible that a contract deal will be negotiated and the series will remain on the streaming service, according to What’s On Netflix. Now the question is where Charmed will stream after it exits Netflix. In Canada, the series is on CBS All Access.
The original show did air on The WB. It’s annoying when our favorite shows leave Netflix, but it’s not Netflix’s fault.

What Is The Goal Of The Petition?
Help the ORIGINAL Charmed cast and characters to COME BACK! The Petition’s goal is to grab the attention of Netflix and CBS television studios. However, CBS Studios have the rights for the show now and they are more interested in rebooting the series without them, which all the fans are against it.
Charmed fans would truly appreciate a revival as well, it would really make many people’s dreams come true. The show was about the Halliwell sisters and their characters development, and anything that would change that will not be true to the series. CBS Television Studios and The CW network should learn about what make Charmed so successful before they decide to make a show about new witches!
Ever since Charmed ended every new show, about Witches who fight evil, failed and got cancelled. The majority of people and loyal fans don’t want to see a show that wants to copy their beloved series. So CW and CBS, good luck with your Charmed reboot but we’ll always keep petitioning for the ORIGINAL Charmed.
With all the reboots that are going around, we might be able to convince Netflix to revive Charmed. They revived few 90s’ shows like Gilmore Girls, Fuller House, Arrested Development (and brought back ALL of the shows’ ORIGINAL cast.) We need their help to stop CBS Studios from remaking the series, so we can get our original cast back for a reunion mini-series or even a spin-off.
Our daily mantra was: ‘This is a show about three sisters who happen to be witches, not three witches who happen to be sisters.” (Brad Kern, Charmed show-runner, TVLine 2016) Fans weren’t going to be upset if CBS Television Studios made a sequel or some connection to the original Halliwell sisters instead of trying to replace them with a remake. Also people wouldn’t have compared the two shows so much all the time because it would’ve been related to the original just like when Prue died and they continued the show with a new sister but it was still charmed and true to the series.
People will always want the Halliwells back.
