I’m a cartoon lover so when I heard there was going to be a new cartoon coming to Nickelodeon, I was thrilled — I put my hopes up and waited patiently for “The Loud House”. This cartoon was the best on Nickelodeon, no exaggeration. Funny how I would quickly grab a seat just to watch The Loud House, and funny how I didn’t see any homosexual scenes bad enough to get the most trending cartoon as at 2016/17 canceled.
Why was this cartoon banned? DSTV Kenya claimed that The Loud House cartoon had scenes of Homosexuality — Clyde McBride, an African-American who was Lincoln’s best friend was adopted by two gay men (his dads). They also claimed that the show had multiple queer characters that were not suitable to be seen by children.
Trust me when I say the net doesn’t hide anything. The fact remains that the cartoon show was banned because their society deemed it bad and unsuitable, this is how they will think. Some of them have been raised in a homophobic society, they have come to live and accept that being a person of the LGBTQ+ community is a taboo.
In this type of society, there is a 10% chance of equality between both parties. A cartoon banned for depicting a happy family with gay dads who adopted a son who was happy to be part of the family? Why the ban?
The banning/cancellations of shows, the avoidance of the topic LGBTQ+ in schools, the Media’s inability to show the exact meaning of what being a lesbian is, the porn industry’s exaggeration of sexual orientation which usually leads to the irritation or fetishization of LGBTQ+ people is absurd. Funny how many people don’t know that most of these things are originally made by homophobic people who want to spoil the name of LGBTQIA. There will only be equality when these are changed.

What Is The Name Of Kenya’S Film And Classification Board?
Kenya’s film and classification board (KFCB) has called for the suspension of several US-produced children’s programs running on channels provided by TV company MultiChoice. The board said the cartoons featured “disturbing content glorifying homosexual behavior” which was not suitable for children. The animation programs are The Loud House, The Legend of Korra, and Hey Arnold, which run on the Nickelodeon channel, and Clarence, Steven Universe, and Adventure Time which air on Cartoon Network.
Many of the Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network children shows have featured queer characters, gay parents, and addressed issues related to being in the closet. The KFCB board said it asked Multichoice to discontinue the broadcasting, distribution or exhibition of these programs because they were inconsistent with age suitability ratings for films, and contradicted Kenyan laws regarding the institution of a family. “Adults can choose to become homosexuals and exercise their rights on sexual orientation and relationships, but not so with children,” Ezekiel Mutua, the chief executive officer of the regulator, said in a statement.
As the head of the government agency that regulates all visual content in Kenya, this is not the first time Mutua has called for the banning of gay-themed shows and films. Mutua is a controversial figure in Kenya, with some calling him the country’s censor-in-chief. In late April, he said he will introduce a bill in parliament that prohibits the use of fake names on social media.
When Netflix came into Kenya last year, the regulator said that it posed a threat to the country’s “moral values and national security.” Both GOtv and DStv Kenya have for now confirmed that Nickelodeon will not be airing episodes of The Loud House featuring gay elements on its channels in sub-Saharan Africa.
Who Was The Creator Of Nickelodeon’S Hit Animated Series The Loud House?
Just a day after Chris Savino, creator of Nickelodeon’s hit animated series The Loud House, was suspended from the show amid allegations of sexual harassment, Savino has been fired. Here is the statement from Nickelodeon spokesperson: Chris Savino is no longer working with Nickelodeon. We take allegations of misconduct very seriously, and we are committed to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment that is free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct.
Season three is scheduled to premiere in early 2018. In conjunction with Savino’s termination, Nickelodeon Group president Cyma Zarghami sent an internal memo reinforcing parent Viacom’s “commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment” and encouraging anyone who has been the subject of or has witnessed “an uncomfortable situation at work” to speak up. (you can read it in full email under the story). The site said the reports date back at least a decade.
The Loud House is the first show he created. It follows 11-year-old Lincoln as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive in the bedlam of a large family, especially as the only boy with 10 sisters. It launched in May 2016 and last October was renewed for a third season.
It was the first series to be greenlit out of the global program designed to mine and cultivate a new generation of creative talent.
Nickelodeon Africa Was Forced To Censor What Episode Of Overnight Success?
Following the homosexuality-in-children controversy in Africa over the last couple of years, which resulted in the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) banning several children’s television shows, including Nickelodeon’sandas they ridiculously ruled that the shows ‘promoted homosexuality’ last year, and Nickelodeon Africa being forced to censorepisode “Overnight Success”, in which Lincoln’s best friend Clyde is dropped off for a sleepover by his two dads, Harold and Howard McBride, a year earlier, another country has decided to follow suit – Poland. When the Polish conservative group Ordo Iuris – which is sort of a Polish equivalent of One Million Moms – found out that(locally titled) was portraying a family with two dads in a positive light, they applied to the Krajowej Rady Radiofonii i Telewizji, Poland’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for a response, claiming that the series was corrupting family values. Ordo Iuris argued that portraying homosexuality in a positive light went against Article 18 of the Konstytucji RP, the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, which states that a marriage, being a union of a man and a woman, as well as the family, motherhood and parenthood, shall be placed under the protection and care of the Republic of Poland. Ordo Iuris also argued thatcontravened article 18 of Poland’s radio and television broadcasting act, which states that programmes or other broadcasts shall respect the religious beliefs of viewers/listeners, particularly the Christian system of values.Unfortunately, Ordo Iuris’ arguments against were successful , resulting in the Krajowej Rady Radiofonii i Telewizji asking Nickelodeon Polska to ‘avoid the broadcast of materials presenting a family model contrary to the model that is protected in Poland’, barring Nickelodeon Polska from airing any episodes offeaturing Harold and Howard McBride.
