When it comes to streaming platforms, Netflix has got to be one of the most prevalent and easily accessible of ’em all. Not only does the platform have tons of classic beloved titles, but it also has numerous original films and series that have helped to turn it into the powerhouse it is today. With all of these choices, however, it can be hard to narrow things down, especially as we dive into the thick of the holiday season and are therefore craving Christmas movies that include everything from kid-friendly fare to comedy to romance.

1 ‘White Christmas’ (1954) Description: Singers and World War II veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis team up with performing sisters Betty and Judy Haynes to spend Christmas putting up a holiday show in the small town of Pine Tree, Vermont. Wanting to cheer up their depressed and near-bankrupt General Waverly, the guys hope to put on a show that will both cheer up their former leader as well as draw people in to generate business. But it’s not all smooth sailing, folks!

American movie trailer maker Amanda and British society columnist are both going through ruts and preparing to spend the holidays single and lonely, but suddenly find themselves engaging in a house swap that will last through Christmas and hopefully offer both a nice change of pace and scenery. Through the swap, the ladies encounter fellas Graham (Irish’s book editing brother) and Miles (a composer who works with Amanda’s ex), who, though kinda sus in the ways you’d expect for guys in a mid 2000s Christmas rom-com, still manage to make an impression on our female leads, opening the door for romances that have the potential to last long past the end of the holiday season. Cast: Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Jude Law, Eli Wallach Rated: PG-13 Watch The Holiday on Netflix 3 ‘A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas’ (2011) Description: Here’s a slightly raunchier and more outrageous Christmas film for ya, as the titular leads of the Harold & Kumar franchise serve up an R-rated buddy stoner comedy that revolves around the holiday season.

In this meta Netflix comedy, Murray is forced to cancel his live Christmas special after getting snowed in at New York City’s Carlyle Hotel. This ushers in a host of celebrity cameos, festive musical number, and even an elaborate and star-studded dream sequence that culminates in 56 minutes of Christmas merriment, laughter, and taking shots every time you recognize a celebrity or see Murray taking a drink (don’t actually do this, though, as you’d likely be hospitalized for alcohol poisoning). This is, of course, only the natural continuation of the Pee-wee story and legacy as he leads us on a journey that actually technically has nothing to do with Christmas, but it IS a holiday, so we think it can count as a Christmas movie since you’ve at least got the necessary themes of friendship, taking time to see the ones you hold dear, wedding ceremonies, Amish communities, and Joe freakin’ Manganiello.

This is a fun romp of a Christmas movie, so make sure to carve out some time to watch it in the coming days or… knights (we love word play in this house). Now, 30 years later, Jeronicus and Justice have the chance to right past wrongs, get Jeronicus’s creative spark back, and bring a broken family back together in the midst of it all.

Single All The Way Single All The Way is a new film on Netflix’s Christmas lineup as it was only released on December 2, but it has already garnered a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences giving it 74%, while critics gave it 64%. The film stars Michael Urie and Philemon Chambers as best friends Peter and Nick, and it follows them as the former asks the latter to pose as his boyfriend during the holidays, only for sparks to start flying. The Christmas Chronicles The Christmas Chronicles certainly has the makings of a classic given it features Kurt Russell as Santa Claus.

The Knight Before Christmas The Knight Before Christmas scored well with critics, but not as highly with fans. Like all good Christmas movies, The Knight Before Christmas is incredibly cheesy and while it scored 70% with critics it only got 41% with the audience. In a classic Prince and the Pauper-style switch-up, Hudgens’ baker Stacey de Novo trades places with Lady Margaret, and falls in love with a prince in the process.

A Christmas Prince Along the same lines as The Princess Switch, A Christmas Prince sees its female lead, journalist Amber, played by Rose McIver, fall madly in love with Prince Richard (Ben Lamb) while trying to get a scoop on the royal family. Amber tries to get her scoop by going undercover as a tutor for his sister, but learns that the playboy prince is in fact anything but that. A Castle for Christmas A Castle for Christmas is another new film on Netflix’s festive lineup, which was released on November 26, just in time for the festive season.

A Boy Called Christmas A Boy Called Christmas was released on November 24 on Netflix, and the film has a very high score of 83% with critics, and 60% with viewers. The film is all about Father Christmas, following the jolly character from his childhood as he goes on an adventure to find his dad, but instead discovers a village named Elfhelm. Klaus Animated Netflix film Klaus came out on top with both critics and viewers, with the film getting a 94% rating with the former and 96% with the latter.
