There’s something incredibly comforting about Schmidt’s (Max Greenfield) unique word pronunciations, Jess Day’s (Zooey Deschanel) never-faltering optimism, Nick Miller’s (Jake Johnson) attempts to write another Julius Pepperwood novel, and Winston’s tender relationship with his cat, Furguson.

There are only 4 episodes of New Girl that are Christmas themed, but all of them are beautiful in their own way. Santa, Season 2 Episode 11: This is my least favorite Christmas episode. It’s pretty boring besides Nick’s adventures in exhibitionism with his “Stripper Girlfriend.”

The 23rd, Season 1 Episode 9: My first criticism of this show is entirely unrelated to the holiday theme. I don’t know why but the camera work in this episode is unusually wiggly and The Office-esque; not my fav. Moving on!

What’s not to love? I think throughout most of Season 6 (my least favorite season because Regan is annoying), I can relate to Jess trying to make everyone else happy despite watching Nick fall in love with someone else. LAXmas, 4×11: Some may argue that “Judaism, son!”, is the best Schmidt line from a holiday episode.

Throughout the six seasons they’ve had so far, there have been four episodes that revolve around the holidays.

“Santa,” Season 2, Episode 11 Holiday cheer: three holiday parties, Christmas cookies, reindeer and a broken sleigh, drunk Winston singing “Up on the House Top,” lap dancing to Christmas music, a possible Santa sighting and caroling. Best moment: Jess, Cece, Winston, Nick, and Angie all start to believe in Santa again—or at least in the existence of Christmas miracles. “Christmas Eve Eve,” Season 6, Episode 10 Holiday cheer: Secret Santa, keeping the spirit of Christmas alive, spending time with loved ones, holiday surprises, snow in California, and a special performance of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).”
