Back at the beginning of 2021, Paramount+ announced that a Yellowstone spin-off set on Texas’s historic 6666 ranch was in the works (alongside the prequel series 1883). Since then, details have remained scant, with little revealed about the show’s plot or even when it’s expected to come out. Now, though, we may be getting a clearer idea of what’s to come from the Yellowstone expansion, because it appears that Jimmy, the lovable screw-up ranch hand who has been calling the Dutton ranch home since season one, is moving on to the spin-off.
Early on in season 4, Yellowstone owner John Dutton sent Jimmy down to the 6666 (pronounced four sixes) ranch in Texas, telling him, This isn’t a punishment Jimmy, it’s an opportunity if you let it be. The news came as Jimmy was still attempting to recover from a devastating riding injury he sustained in the season 3 finale, but Jimmy nonetheless reluctantly agreed with Dutton, deciding to leave behind his girlfriend Mia to head to Texas. The character spent most of the show’s fourth outing at the 6666, appearing in interludes throughout season four and subtly introducing the new setting as well as some new characters—most notably Emily, a new love interest, who he revealed in the season finale is now his fiancee.

What Is White’S Dream Role On Yellowstone?
I wish I knew, he says. I think you won’t be surprised to hear that they don’t tell me anything. It’s mostly my job just to try to hold on to the bucking bronco at any given moment.
So, at this point, I’ve learned to just kind of try to hold on. Similar to real life, you don’t get many choices. For Jimmy, he doesn’t get a lot of choices.
And I really think it’s appropriate, then, that I, myself, don’t make a lot of choices. As for his dream role — on Yellowstone, 6666, or beyond — White is always looking forward to what the future holds. As an actor, so much of our job is about responding to material, about figuring out how to make things work in circumstances that are new, surprising, and strange to us — and I’m always excited to do that, he says.
I think the dream job is always the next job, to a certain extent. In addition to playing Jimmy on Yellowstone, which just wrapped Season 4 on the Paramount Network, White also hosts the ongoing Official Yellowstone Podcast, with new episodes released every Thursday.
What Is The Name Of Paramount+’S Second Spinoff Of Yellowstone?
Both shows will air on , a new streaming service. Yellowstone fans, rejoice! There’s lots of exciting news for fans of the top-rated cable show.
Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the Yellowstone universe, said in a video posted on Twitter, “I was always fascinated when I came up with the story of Yellowstone about how do we make it bigger and expand it. 1883 premieres on December 19, 2021, but no such information has been given about 6666, so we’ll likely have to wait a little while. But fear not!
Paramount+ revealed these details in a February 24, 2021, press release: Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 is where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing…The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world class cowboys are born and made. Who is starring in 6666?
But it’s not out of the question that some favorites from the Dutton ranch could star on 6666. Jimmy’s season 4 storyline has seen him shipped off to the 6666 ranch after his falling out with John Dutton, so it seems likely that his role will be reprised on the new spinoff.

Not only is there more left to the epic show, but we also have the prequel series 1883, and the upcoming spinoff with Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White) at the iconic Four Sixes Ranch in West Texas. We saw Taylor Sheridan set the table for Jimmy’s departure in Yellowstone Season 4, with the season finale essentially confirming that he’ll be leaving the Yellowstone and heading down to Texas. Is Jimmy done on Yellowstone for good?

The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.” The working title of the upcoming spinoff is simply 6666 (also much like 1883).
After spending four years on the Yellowstone which is a fictional ranch, it was a real eye-opener to go down to the Sixes which is a real life, incredible, sort of goliath, cattle ranch. As far as the spinoff goes, I don’t think you’ll be surprised that I, Jeff/Jimmy never have any idea what the fuck is going on, and any time I think I do, Taylor does something better and cooler than I ever could’ve imagined. All I can say is that I hope… I’m incredibly grateful for the work we’ve gotten to do so far, incredibly proud… all I can say as an actor is job security is very rare and very precious so I wanna play this character as long as they’ll let me.
Needless to say, only time will tell, but based on the way we saw Jimmy leave the Yellowstone Ranch at the end of Season 4… it sounds like Jimmy is going to be the star of his own show someday soon. Stay tuned… with Taylor Sheridan involved, anything is possible. Listen to the full podcast with Jefferson White, AKA Jimmy Hurdstrom, below: The podcast is available everywhere.
