Tokyo Revengers just ended the anime’s debut season on a huge cliffhanger! The debut adaptation of Ken Wakui’s original manga series has been one of the stronger hits of the Spring and Summer anime schedules, and now has brought its 24 episode run to an end with its latest release. As fans had seen in the final episode of the season, Takemichi Hanegaki has managed to reach a new rank within the Toman group.
With this, however, Takemichi soon finds himself in a surprisingly bloody finale and the final moments of the episode leave fans on the hugest cliffhanger in the anime yet. The season finale of the series sees Mikey declare that Toman and Valhalla are now officially a 450 member strong group, and Kisaki is celebrated as one of the heroes that made it all happen following the events of Bloody Halloween. Takemichi officially becomes the commander of the first division (with Chifuyu instated as his vice-commander), and he’s so happy with how much has happened for the group that he goes back into the present to see how much has changed.
With a tear rolling down his cheek, he calls Takemichi my hero in reference to something and the screen fades to black as a gunshot is heard. Takemichi’s fate now remains in the balance as a second season of Tokyo Revengers has yet to be announced. This would be quite the intense cliffhanger if the anime never in fact makes its return, so hopefully this kind of cliffhanger does mean that a second season is all but officially confirmed.

What Was Takemichi’S First Time To Participate In A Rally Wearing?
After everything that happened, following various trips of Takemichi to the past to be able to climb up the ladder and be a member of the Tokyo Manji Gang to save Hinata from dying in the future, the finale has brought us a rollercoaster of emotions and definitely, it blew us all away as no one expected that the ending of Tokyo Revengers would be like that. Warning! This portion may contain spoilers for Tokyo Revengers! it is Takemichi’s first time to participate in a rally wearing special East Swastika attack clothes.
As for Takemichi, he was nominated by Chifuyu to be their first-ever division captain. Takemichi went back to the present and found out how things changed drastically as he became a high-level executive member, however, Mikey and Mitsuya remain missing and Draken got executed, so, Kisaki holds the highest seat in the absence of Mikey. The police raided the Tokyo Manji Gang and Chifuyu and Takemichi were the ones responsible for it so they were captured.
Analyzing what happened in the finale, it could be deduced that he could have died in that scene and Kisaki really pulled the trigger to Takemichi’s head. However, it is also possible that he fired somewhere else, the dead body of Takemichi was not shown at all. With such an ending, Season 2 of Tokyo Revengers remains possible as the cliffhanger has everyone holding on to hope that the fate of Takemichi would be different.

The finale of Tokyo Revengers Part 2 succeeds with flying colors in leaving fans wanting a second season. After the Toman meeting where an important announcement is made, protagonist Takemichi Hanagaki returns to the present where his situation is very different. The mood in the meeting is sombre with Baji’s death still hanging in the air, but Hanma declares Valhalla will now be affiliated with Toman.
But to Takemichi’s horror, Hanma credits this joint affiliation with Kisaki, which will make it that much harder for him to convince Mikey and the rest of Toman that Kisaki is evil. That someone is…
Takemichi has a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that he’s come so far, but what’s even more interesting is there seems to be disconnect between his future self and his current self’s personalities. Judging by reactions of the other gang members, Takemichi’s future self is respected but intimidating — a far cry from the Takemichi whom Tokyo Revengers fans currently know. There are also new members like Inui and Kokonoi, formerly of Black Dragon.
Upon seeing Takemichi, Kisaki invites him and Chifuyu for a drink. Kisaki shoots Takemichi, the bullet going straight through both his leg and chair. With Kisaki’s gun pressed to his forehead, Chifuyu reveals all that’s happened in the past 12 years: Mikey is gone and Draken is dead, yet he insists that Toman hasn’t changed at its core.
As suddenly as his anger appears, he straightens up and, with a tear inexplicably running down his cheek, Kisaki bids him farewell, calling him a hero. A gunshot explodes and the screen turns black. We’ve seen our fair share of cliffhangers in Tokyo Revengers, but the season finale has to be the most explosive yet.
Here’s hoping a second season of Tokyo Revengers will be on the way sooner than later.
When Did Tokyo Revengers Air The Final Episode Of Its First Season?
Spoilers for Tokyo Revengers season one CW: mention of suicidal thoughts Tokyo Revengers, an anime/manga series I never expected to hit me as hard as it did, aired the final episode of its first season over the weekend. Tokyo Revengers ensnared me pretty early in its season, so much so that I got impatient and went to read the manga so I could get more of the story. This means that I already knew what was going to happen in the first season of the anime, so the series has been a chance for me to see some crucial moments animated.
That is your destiny as a Tokyo Revengers fan who reads the manga AND watches the anime. The battle against Valhalla had come to its tragic end, Baji still dying despite Takemichi’s efforts to prevent it from happening. Still, I knew all of this was going to happen and I knew what was coming next.
Had my theory been correct, the second season (assuming we get one) could pick up with Takemichi getting that handmade Toman jacket from Mitsuya, a sign of how much the founders have come to respect him. Of course, that’s not what happened, as the anime kept going past the point of Mikey’s forgiveness, which led to my second theory: the season ending with Takemichi getting that jacket. So yes, YES, that HAS to be where it ends, right?
That’s when I realized, wait, this is a bad future, and this is the last episode of the season, which means… we’re ending things HERE?! I couldn’t believe the anime went this far into the manga with the final episode because I knew there wouldn’t be enough time to resolve things. Takemichi’s success is short-lived, the people he wants to protect are still dead, only now, he gets to watch Kisaki kill Chifuyu, adding a new name to the list of people Takemichi has to try and prevent from dying.
See, I kinda assumed the anime would give us a semi-hopeful end to the season, something like Takemichi strengthening his resolve after seeing such a terrible ending to Bloody Halloween. It makes people crave more of the story, which means there’s a pretty good reason to greenlight a second season, and hey, you probably just made manga reader out of anyone who can’t wait for the announcement of a season 2. anime onlys reacting to tokyo revengers’ cliffhanger on season 1 finale: pic.twitter.com/0VHq4QKYja — wen draken is mikey’s heart.
