The trends of the moment all pass through the most popular social networks, regardless of the content. The latest fashion that has conquered a crowd of users is that of a specific training for a flat stomach, proposed by an Asian personal trainer.
His followers have made it a real mantra, to be followed to the letter and above all to be practiced daily to get results. However, the proposed exercise and the indications of the self-styled instructor are perplexing, especially as regards their effectiveness.
The training for a flat stomach
The principle of this story obviously coincides with the sharing of a reel by the user Janny149062. In the video you can see an Asian instructor, small and very thin, explaining the simple abdominal movement to a student.
The exercise, performed to the rhythm of music, consists of standing and move your belly jerky and vigorously, bending back and forth. The author of this “move” explains that it is enough to repeat this movement for 5 minutes a day, at least for a month, to have fabulous abs. Is called “belly curling exercise “, literally “belly curvature exercise”, and it might seem like a funny dance of some challenge circulating on social media.
According to the trainer, however, it is an effective way to reduce the waistline and firm the belly. The turtle guru vigorously urges her pupils to commit, screaming as if she were barracks.
The promoter of this technique has undoubtedly focused on ease: given the simplicity of the execution, dabbling is very easy, practicable by everyone and just a mirror and rhythmic music are enough to try your hand. But is it really effective?

The doubts of the experts
Despite the virality of oriental training videos, many doubt its validity. The first problem lies in the fact that no indications are given on nutrition or lifestyle, but that this exercise alone is enough to get the desired results. In fact, many personal trainers and experts remind us that it is not possible to lose weight in a certain area of the body with localized exercises. There loss of fat or weight it involves the whole organism and is only possible with a calorie deficit, which is obtained with a complete training and a healthy diet (the most important component). Another negative is that this type of movement, with its speed and intensity is risky for the back and can also cause serious injury.
Even if with the oriental training the now famous Janny has 2.4 million followers on Tik Tok and his videos have as many views, this cannot be the yardstick for good fitness. Better to rely on real experts and more sustainable schemes in the long run, which may be less trendy and more demanding but certainly also more effective.
