Bridging allowance for dependent children, white smoke by the Council of Ministers which approved the decree that implements this support measure for those households that were in fact excluded from family allowances: numbers in hand should amount to about two million to which 1.5 billion euros have been allocated.
The monthly contribution will be available from the month of July and until December 31, 2021 and is addressed to the unemployed, self-employed, to those who are beneficiaries of citizenship income and immigrants with a residence permit. The bridging allowance will therefore be intended for those families who do not meet the requirements for the allowance already in force, which will continue to be paid, together with other forms of support, until 2022 when we will move on touniversal single check.
The requirements to apply for it
The first requirement necessary is to have a ISEE lower than 50 thousand euros per year. Furthermore, those who request it must be an Italian citizen or an EU citizen, or a family member who holds the right of residence. Those who are not citizens of a European Union state must have a long-term residence permit or residence permit for work or research purposes.
You must pay income tax in Italy, have dependent children up to the age of 18 and have resided in Italy for at least 2 years (even if not continuous) or have an open-ended or fixed-term employment contract lasting at least six months.
How the check is paid
The bridge check comes paid for each minor child based on the number of children and the family’s ISEE. Numbers in hand, the average benefit for each family, from 1 July to 31 December 2021, it is 1065 euros per household and 674 euros per child. For those who submit the application by 30 September 2021, the previous months of the measure will also be paid (therefore starting from 1 July). It is compatible with citizenship income and with other measures provided by Regions and Municipalities.

Other support measures for families
As regards the other family support measures, pending the arrival of the universal single allowance in 2022, for the period in which the bridge allowance is in force, the monthly amounts of the allowance for the family unit already in force will be increased by 37.5 euros for each child in favor of families with up to two children, and 55 euros for each child in favor of families of at least three children.
