The Council of Ministers gave the green light to the new DL on reopening, following the Premier’s guidelines Mario Draghi presented in the afternoon of May 17 during the control room at Palazzo Chigi. The latest data analyzed by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità are constantly improving.
Measures that provide for the gradual reopening of all activities, including shopping centers, gyms and mountain lifts, closed since last season. A moderate calendar that, step by step, aims to return to “normality”, always in full compliance with anti-Covid regulations and taking into account the continuous monitoring of data on infections.
Important news also on the curfew, which in recent weeks has been the subject of confrontation (and clash) between the parties. The calendar foresees the easing of the measures, until its complete disappearance. The new rules are valid for the regions in the yellow zone while the six regions are exceptions they return to the white zone, with the obligation of spacing and masks.
How the curfew changes
The curfew – or rather the ban on travel for reasons other than work, necessity or health – in the yellow zone will be postponed from 10pm to 11pm starting from May 19th, then postponed by one hour. Then to leave from 7 June will be permanently moved to midnight, maximum return time. Finally on 21 June it will be abolished definitively.
Six regions in the white zone
The month of June foresees the return of the white zone. The Draghi government has reached an agreement on the modification of parameters for the change of band of the regions: theRt hospital which counts the hospitalizations in the wards, measuring the incidence of new cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.
If the drop in infections is confirmed, they will return to the white area to be exact six regions: Abruzzo, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Molise, Sardinia and Veneto. The first to return white will be Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia from 1 June, while Abruzzo, Veneto and Liguria will have to wait another week, becoming the white zone from 7 June.
For these regions there will be no more curfews and you can move freely regardless of health, need and work reasons. Obviously, the precautionary measures regarding spacing and use of masks remain in force.
When the gyms reopen
The new DL on reopening brings some important news also regarding the reopening of gyms. The previous decree (of April 22) had established that they would resume their activities from June 1, instead the Council of Ministers has opening to May 24th.
Gyms and sports centers will have to comply with new guidelines approved by the CTS, but it’s a great step towards returning to normal. Within the facilities you will have to take the temperature of all – members, professionals, carers – preventing entry to those with a temperature above 37.5 ° C. The use of the mask, the sanitation of the shared equipment, the spacing of at least one meter and the no shower in structure.
Weddings and receptions
Good news for future spouses too. The new Draghi decree provides that from 15 June wedding parties and receptions can be held both outdoors and indoors. All guests must have the green pass, i.e. the certificate of vaccination (or recovery) or which certifies the negative result of the swab in the previous 48 hours.

It can also be consumed at the table for dinner and we can go back to have a coffee directly at the bar counter. On the same date, the possibility of attending a sports competition returns to stage (for the sports halls you will have to wait until July 1st), but the capacity must not exceed 25% of the maximum.
