When you notice that your lips are chapped, surely you feel ashamed and do not think about anything else. We all get dry lips at some point, but if the cause is dehydration or the weather, exfoliation of the lips it can help considerably. And if you can do it at home, much better. Then we bring you 6 homemade recipes to exfoliate the lips that will leave you soft, smooth, and kissable lips.
1 | Olive oil + Sugar
For those who appreciate simple and inexpensive home remedies, mix a little olive oil with a little granulated sugar, then rub it on your lips. Just rinse when done and apply some lip balm.
two | The toothbrush trick
.
This is one of the easiest and perhaps best known ways to soften lips: apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the lips, then use a soft toothbrush to gently exfoliate dead skin. Make sure you are using a brand new toothbrush. Some people, instead of petroleum jelly, prefer to use regular lip balm.
3 | Sugar + Honey
If olive oil isn’t your thing, you can do all the same steps as tip # 1, but sweeter (and stickier) by using a little honey.
4 | sodium bicarbonate
Mix a little baking soda with a little water until a “gritty paste” is formed, then apply to the lips with a soft toothbrush. Rinse, finally, apply lip balm.
5 | Brown Sugar + Oil
This is my favorite as I love the taste and texture of brown sugar. Mix some brown sugar with jojoba oil or oil with vitamin E, and exfoliate your lips. This will make your lips look 10 times better.
6 | Glycerin + rose water
Rose water is often regarded as one of the stars’ best beauty secrets, why not use it on your lips? Mix a little glycerin and rose water, apply the mixture to your pot, then leave it to act overnight to allow its absorption.
