Combination skin is particularly difficult to treat: using double cleansing in your skincare can help a lot. Advice on how to do it and which products to use for combination skin.
Double cleansing: what it is and how to do it
Double cleansing was born in Korea, a beauty ritual that allows you to make the skin more beautiful, smoother and deeply cleansed.
This is a cleansing to be carried out in two steps. In first step you have to use a product that cleanses by affinity with the skin: oily-based cleansers, which act deeply in dissolving excess sebum that accumulates on the face.
In second step instead it acts by contrast: foaming detergents and micellar water are perfect products for this phase. With contrast cleansing, dry-based dirt residues such as dead skin and dust will be eliminated.
Double cleansing can also be done without removing make-up pads, for a more ecological approach. It is also suitable for all skin types, even if it has particular positive effects for oily and combination skin.
Double cleansing for combination skin
There mixed skin it is characterized by the presence of drier areas and areas with a tendency to grease (especially the T-zone which includes the nose, chin and forehead). Some, on the other hand, experience drier skin in some seasons and oilier in other periods.
Double cleansing is very effective for combination skin, allowing effective cleansing and rebalancing sebum and dryness through its two steps.
For the first phase of double cleansing, the one by affinity, combination skin will have to choose detergents that are not too rich and oily so as not to excessively grease the skin. Deep Cleasing Oil by DHC, Clean energy gentle cleansing oil from Origins and SO BiO Etic Prezioso from Argan Anti-Age cleansing oil are some of the recommended products.
The second step is instead cleansing by contrast. Mixed skin can opt for the foaming cleansers Gel Moussant Purifiant from the Effaclar line by La Roche Posay, Pure Active Mat Control by Garnier and the Avène Mattifying Mousse.
