Stella McCartney, like other brands, has invested in eco-sustainable fashion by creating a clothes line with mushrooms.
Stella McCartney: clothes made with mushrooms
Also the fashion sector is doing its utmost to defend the planet, placing eco-sustainable products on the market.
Jason Momoa’s vegan shoes, made with seaweed and cork, are just one example of eco-sustainable fashion. Reduce the impact of plastic and create a product cruelty free, which does not harm animals: the objectives of the fashion sector are ambitious but many brands are succeeding in their intent. Some of them use elements of nature to create clothes that do not pollute and respect the planet Earth.
An example is the line of dresses created by the Stella McCartney brand that uses gods mushrooms as an alternative to animal skin.
Obviously these are not the edible mushrooms that we usually find in our dishes, but a particular type of mycelium. The fabric Mylo it was in fact created by the Bolt Threads company – which has long collaborated with the fashion brand – starting from a mycelium extracted from the roots of mushrooms. Mylo is an eco-sustainable and cruelty free alternative to animal skin suits and dresses. Stella is not the first to make fashion garments with mycelia: even the Hermes brand has launched a bag made with mushrooms.
For the moment Stella McCartney has not put on the market the clothes made with Mylo, but only wanted to express the infinite possibilities of eco-sustainable fashion.
With mushrooms they were created two prototypes: a bustier top and long trousers inspired by the cargo model. However, it is hoped that these garments will enter the market as early as the next collection of the fashion house.
For the launch of the two prototypes of clothes made with Mylo, the exclusive skin made with mushrooms, Stella McCartney has called a model special. It is about Paris Jackson, the 23-year-old daughter of King of Pop Michael Jackson, who became famous as a model and actress.
