The rapper Lil Nas X is located in the center of a large one controversy for the series of shoes with the brand Nike which shortly after their launch, sold out. The company that owns the logo, however, was not happy with the result and accused the young man of trademark infringement.
It seems that the origin of the problem is in the shoes themselves, or rather, in the message that they transmit and also in theirs manufacture. A set of factors for which they have earned the reputation of “Satanic shoes”.
Nike versus Lil Nas X
On the side they show the number 666 and the verse of the Bible Luke 10:18, in which L’apostle speaks precisely of Satan. But not only that, the shoes in question are also accompanied by a pentacle in bronze and in order not to miss anything, the interior of the sole contains a drop of human blood mixed with some red liquid.
Symbols also present on the box itself. Shoes sold “modico” price of $ 1,018, they immediately went in sold out.
Despite the success, however, the Nike, who lent his own brand for the making of Lil Nas X’s shoes, would not have taken well the fact of being approached to a pair of shoes accused by politicians and consumers of praise Satanism and reacted by suing the rapper for trademark infringement on the same day they were released on the market.
The blood inside the shoes
It is not the first time that MSCHF, society who collaborated with the rapper for the realization of these particular sneakers, deals with this type of “customization”. The company had already produced one line of shoes totally opposite to the one conceived with Lil Nas X, or the “Jesus Shoes”, which in the sole contained a drop of Holy water.
The opposite of the shoes that are the subject of discord between the rapper and the famous brand, which as we have already said, contain instead human blood. Blood donated just come on employees of the same MSCHF. Company certainly not new to provocations.
The Lil Nas X reaction
It is not the first time that a brand collaborates with a musical artist. We have already seen, for example, Adidas with Beyoncé is Converse with Elettra Lamborghini. Collaborations with the same epilogue as the one between Lil Nas X and Nike, however, are very rare, precisely because the border between provocation is scandal it is labile and, usually, we try to avoid it.
Lil Nas X however, seems to have taken the good fuss raised by this “diabolical” collaboration, grasping it as opportunity for the promotion of his new album. The rapper would in fact open a video of fake apologies, and then show a small part of a video clip of one of his songs, in which he is seen, in fact, in the company of a devil.
